Who Am I? (1)

I, Chelsea Marie Woodrum, am a daughter of God. He loves me and I love Him. I know that I can show my love for Him by word and deed every day. The Lord has blessed me with the knowledge of the truthfulness of the gospel at a young age. He has also blessed me with a love for family history and the scriptures. I thank the Lord daily for my family and for the missionaries who brought the gospel into the lives of my dad’s parents and my mom. Conversion stories of family and friends are some of my favorite stories to hear time and time again.
My love for the scriptures is unlike any love I have ever experienced. I have read all of the standard works, thanks to LDS seminary, and I am currently reading the Book of Mormon for the fourth time.

If I were to choose a favorite gospel principle it would be the Plan of Salvation. The Plan of Salvation was the first gospel principle I ever had a testimony of, and since then my testimony has grown line upon line and precept upon precept. I gained a testimony of the Plan of Salvation when my grandfather passed away in April of 2008. His death was sudden and a shock to the family because of his excellent health. I remember being away on a leadership trip, in Washington D.C. during spring break, when I found out the news. I remember weeping all day long and then having to suppress my emotions until the week ended and I could join my family in Georgia for the funeral. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me because of the creation of the Plan of Salvation and the opportunity we all have to be with our families forever. I know that if I remain righteous I can see my grandfather again and I can meet my little sister, who died shortly after birth, for the first time. I know that many of my ancestors who I have done work for, every month over the past year and many other occasions prior to this year, will welcome me with open arms.
This work is a marvelous work that has been requested to be hastened at this time, in the last days. I know that this gospel was restored by Joseph Smith Junior and that he really did see God the Father and Jesus Christ. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true prophet on the earth today. I know the Book of Mormon to be another testament of Jesus Christ. I believe that modern day revelation and personal revelation are very real and guide each of us through trying times in our lives. I know that prayer is a direct way that I can communicate with my Father in Heaven. I know Christ lives and that he atoned for me and my sins. These things, and many more, I know to be true.
